1. Controller and scope
GLOB Kft. operates the Apostolok website. Company details appear in the legal notice. This notice covers use of the website, telephone contact, online table bookings initiated from this website and online booking of the prepaid dinner and show package.
2. Visiting the website
The website has no account registration. Google Analytics and Google Ads load only if you accept them in the cookie banner (see section 9). The prepaid dinner and show package is paid online in Bókun’s booking form; this and table booking on the Resos page are described in their own sections. Fonts, images and videos load from the website’s own hosting; the exception is the My Guide Budapest partner badge on the home page (see section 8). The website embeds no map: Directions opens Google Maps on a separate page.
3. Hosting and technical data
Delivering a page sends the visitor’s IP address and browser request to the server.
The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (details in the legal notice), so Vercel also receives the IP address and technical request data. During a normal visit the hosting sets no cookies; the cookie notice has the details.
4. Telephone enquiries and reservations
The call button opens your device’s telephone app. It does not submit a reservation through the website. When calling, provide only information needed for your enquiry or booking.
5. Online table booking (Resos)
The Book a table buttons open the website’s booking page (/reserve) in a new tab, which takes you straight on to the restaurant’s Resos booking page (apostolok-medieval-feast-tavern-since-1903.resos.com). The website embeds no Resos content and makes no connection to Resos until you press the button. When you continue, your browser connects directly to Resos and sends your IP address, browser request data and the referring page address. Resos is provided by Resos ApS (Copenhagen, Denmark).
Resos handles the booking: you enter the party size, date, time and your contact details on the Resos booking page, and they go to the restaurant’s Resos account, where the restaurant team manages its bookings. The Apostolok website cannot see the details you enter on the Resos page or the booking result and does not store them.
The Resos booking page is Resos’s own website. There Resos also loads tags of other companies under Resos’s control: Google Tag Manager, Google Ads and Google Analytics (Google), the Microsoft Advertising (Bing) tag, OpenAI’s advertising pixel, Stripe and Cloudflare’s performance measurement. In our check on 15 October 2026 they loaded when the booking page opened, before any answer to Resos’s cookie question. Resos’s own privacy policy and cookie settings apply on the Resos page. Use any comment only for practical requests about your visit, and please discuss allergies or health details by phone.
Earlier online requests: the form on the previous version of this website sent table requests by email through the Resend service to the restaurant team’s shared inbox, restaurant@retrogoulashouse.hu. Resos booking replaced it on 30 September 2026; the website no longer accepts such requests, and the old endpoint is closed. Resend and the restaurant mailbox handle the emails themselves.
6. Prepaid dinner and show package (Bókun)
Our dinner and show package page embeds the booking form of Bókun (bokun.io). When you press Choose your date, the form loads from Bókun’s servers, so your browser connects directly to Bókun and sends your IP address, browser request data and the referring page address. Bókun is owned and provided by Tripadvisor LLC (400 1st Avenue, Needham, MA 02494, USA).
Bókun can also use code of other companies under its control: in our check on 21 October 2026 these were Google Maps and Google Analytics (Google), Amplitude and Mixpanel visit measurement and New Relic performance monitoring, which stored identifiers in browser storage on Bókun’s domain. Since 30 October 2026 we have set Bókun not to track until you accept in our cookie banner; according to Bókun, this also covers its own statistics and troubleshooting tools. After you accept, the form passes the booking steps, including the booking number, the amount and the currency of a completed booking, to our Google Tag Manager (see section 9). The other pages of the website do not load the Bókun form. The cookie notice describes the cookies and stored data.
Bókun handles the booking and the payment: in the Bókun form you choose the date and time and enter your contact and payment details. The form also asks, optionally, for the name of your hotel and whether you request the free hotel pickup for groups of four or more, so the team can arrange it. Bókun processes the payment through the payment provider Stripe. The booking goes to the restaurant’s Bókun account, and you receive the confirmation by email. The Apostolok website does not read or store the form fields or your payment details, and of the booking our tags pass on only the booking number, the amount, the currency and the package (see section 9).
So the team can prepare your table, the booking details (name, contact details, number of guests, date and time, the package and any comment) are copied automatically from Bókun to the restaurant’s Resos booking list.

7. Quoted guest reviews
The home page quotes a few reviews that guests posted publicly on Google, word for word, with the reviewer’s first name and initial, as shown there. We collect nothing from these guests for this. If you wrote one of these reviews and would like it taken off this website, tell us by phone or in person and we will remove it.
8. External content and links
The “Partners & awards” section of the home page loads the My Guide Budapest partner badge from images.myguide-cdn.com when you scroll near it. Your browser then connects directly to that server and sends your IP address, browser request data and the referring page address. In our check on 21 October 2026 this request set no cookie.
Apart from the Bókun form, the website’s pages have no content embedded from another provider (map, video, social media). Directions (Google Maps), Google reviews, social links (Facebook, YouTube) and the My Guide Budapest partner page open external services, where that provider’s own rules apply.
9. Google Analytics and Google Ads (only with your consent)
To see how visitors use the website and how our ads perform, the website can load Google Tag Manager and, through it, Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement, provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). They load only if you press Accept in the cookie banner. Until you answer, and if you press Reject, the website makes no connection to Google for this.
If you accept, your browser connects directly to Google (googletagmanager.com, google-analytics.com, google.com, doubleclick.net) and sends your IP address, browser request data, the address of the page you are viewing and the referring page address. Google Analytics records the pages you view and, if you book the dinner and show package, the booking number, the amount, the currency and the package; Google Ads records whether a booking followed a click on one of our ads. The tags store identifiers on this website’s domain (the _ga, _ga_ and _gcl_au cookies and the _gcl_ls local storage entry), and Google may use cookies on its own domains. Google uses these to measure visits, bookings and the performance of our ads and, depending on the settings of our Google Ads account, to show our ads to you on other websites (remarketing). In our Google Analytics property, data linked to these identifiers is kept for 2 months. Google may also process the data in the United States.
Your answer to the cookie banner is stored in your browser’s local storage on this website (apostolok-consent-3), so that the banner does not appear again. You can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your consent, the website deletes the Google identifiers from its domain and reloads the page without the tags. The cookie notice lists what is stored and for how long.

10. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR’s conditions, you can request access, correction, deletion or restriction. Portability and objection rights depend on how and why the data is processed. Where consent is used, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Requests must be addressed without undue delay, normally within one month. A two-month extension is possible for complexity or volume, with notice and reasons within the first month.
11. Complaints and remedies
You may complain to Hungary’s National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH), or another competent supervisory authority, and seek a judicial remedy.
